Douglass Shand-Tucci's previous books include "The Art of Scandal", the best-selling biography of Isabella Stewart Gardner, "Boston Bohemia", and, most recently, "Harvard University", with photographs by Richard Cheek and a foreword by Neil Rudenstine. His current book, "The Crimson Letter" follows the gay experience at Harvard, America's oldest university, during the years of its greatest influence. “The Crimson Letter” explores a university transforming and transformed by those passing through its gates, and of their enduring impact upon American culture. Shand-Tucci, a 1972 Harvard graduate, lives in Boston's Back Bay.
