Upon completing her studies in documentary filmmaking in the Conservatory of Film at Purchase College, Chelsea Horenstein went on to work with acclaimed and award-winning documentarians such as Rebecca Dreyfus, Jacki Ochs, and Albert Maysles, exploring a multitude of topics including the lurid world of art theft, September 11th, and adolescent girlhood. Chelsea was instrumental in the development of a video training program aimed at adolescent girls as a result of a project she did with Jacki Ochs.
Ms. Horenstein began her work with Persistence of Vision Films, co-owned and operated by director, Rebecca Dreyfus and producer, Susannah Ludwig, on various film, cable, corporate, and behind-the-scenes productions. After working on earlier projects, Chelsea came on board as an associate producer of the feature length documentary, STOLEN.
In addition to her work with Persistence of Vision, she has assisted veteran producer Peter Newman, on his production, THE SQUID AND THE WHALE, from pre-production through delivery, and is working with him on his current Janis Joplin film project.
Chelsea recently co-produced a short narrative film, AT NIGHT, which is due to hit the festival circuit in the summer of 2007, and is currently doing coordination for the feature film, THE LONER, shot in Ethiopia.
She continues to work on upcoming projects with Persistence of Vision Films and Peter Newman Productions.
